Getting Started
Learn how to get the QStudio for Java Code Quality Control (CQC) client up and running here.
How to use the QStudio for Java CQC Wizard?
In the QStudio environment two types of inspection runs can be distinguished i.e Informal- and Formal inspections. Informal inspections are performed by the developer in an un-controlled context. The developer can change/specify the checks configuration to be used. These inspections are initiated from the Developer clients (GUI and/or Integration packages) and performed as part of the development of the source code. Formal inspections are performed by build- and/or product managers in a controlled context. These contexts reside on the QStudio server and are defined through Products. Within a Product (context) both a Coding Standard (Checks configuration) and a Quality Standard are defined. By selecting a Product (context) as part of the Formal inspection, the corresponding (controlled) standards will be used. Formal inspections are initiated from the CQC clients and are performed on (pre) defined checkpoints within the development process. For a description on QStudio Products, see the WUI Product administration.
The results from the inspection run, the milestone, are stored in the QStudio repository. This repository resides on the QStudio server. The data within the milestones can be viewed through the QStudio Web User Interface (WUI).
This tutorial provides a quick tour through the (possible) steps to be taken for the creation of a milestone (Formal inspection).
The features of QStudio for Javaare based on existing and proven methods and techniques. For a thorough understanding of the functionality of QStudio for Java and the underlying principles it is advised to read the part on used terms and the concepts.
How to use the QStudio for Java CQC Command Line Interface?
For incorporation in existing (automated) build procedures, the CQC functionality can also be accessed through a Command Line Interface. How to invoke the CQC CLI is described here.
