Contract administration interface

The sections in the main window of the Contract administration module.

The main window consists of 4 sections:

The top pane contains the button bar. The button bar contains always 4 buttons i.e. Create, Edit, Save and Delete. The authorization-level of the user determines which buttons are enabled and which are disabled (see the authorization table)
The left pane contains a tree structure showing all entities in the administration and their relation.
The right pane contains the data of the selected entity i.e. contract, department or user (in the picture the contract is selected).
The bottom pane contains the status bar. The status bar is used for the displayal of guidance and/or error messages.

The Modes.

Two modes can be distinguished in which the administration module can reside i.e.:

select:		entities can be selected in the left pane, the corresponding data is displayed (non editable) in the right pane
edit:		entity is selected and the save-button is activated, the corresponding data can be edited

The Buttons.

The button bar is always made up from the 4 (standard) buttons. The function of the buttons is context sensitive and depends on the selected entity. The authorization level of the current user determines whether the buttons are enabled or disabled (see the authorization table).

		Create department or user	(only active in select mode)
		Edit contract-, department-, or user-details	(only active in select mode)
		Save contract-, department-, or user-details	(only active in edit mode)
		Delete department or user	(only active in select mode)

Unsaved changes.

When selecting an entity in the administration tree (in the left pane) while the window is in edit-mode the mode will be set to the select-mode. Any unsaved changes would be intrinsically discarded. To prevent this, unsaved changes are detected and the user is offered the possibility to still save the changes (see picture).

Possible messages in the status bar.

Message:	Maximum number of allowed users exceeded.
Description:	The summation of the total number of users in all departments (including the current) exceeds the total allowed number of users in the contract, as specified in the license agreement.

Message:	All fields are required, please fill in the empty field(s).
Description:	General message when 1 of the fields is not filled (except check boxes).
Description:	Passwords are not equal.
Description:	Invalid e-mail address.
