The sections in the main window of the Product administration module.

The main window consists of 4 sections:

The Modes.

Two modes can be distinguished in which the administration module can reside i.e.:
select: entities can be selected in the left pane, the corresponding data is displayed (non editable) in the right pane
edit: entity is selected and the save-button is activated, the corresponding data can be edited

The Buttons.

The button bar is always made up from the 4 (standard) buttons. The function of the buttons is context sensitive and depends on the selected entity. The authorization level of the current user determines whether the buttons are enabled or disabled (see the authorization table).

Create product (only active in select mode)
Edit product / product team) (only active in select mode)
Save product / product team (only active in edit mode)
Delete product (only active in select mode)

Unsaved changes.

When selecting an entity in the administration tree (in the left pane) while the window is in edit-mode the mode will be set to the select-mode. Any unsaved changes would be intrinsically discarded. To prevent this, unsaved changes are detected and the user is offered the possibility to still save the changes (see picture).

Possible messages in the status bar.

Message: All fields are required, please fill in the empty field(s).
Description: General message when 1 of the fields is not filled (except check boxes.
Message: Unable to delete product, references to product (standards) exist.
Description: Product cannot be deleted while there are other products which reference the standards of this product. These references have to be removed / changed before the product can be deleted.
