Metrics
Analyze metrics
Analyze the software metrics.
An overview of the software metrics is available at every level in the hierarchy. In the
picture the (current) available Method-related metrics are displayed.
For every software metric the following data is displayed:
- Metric, name of the metric.
- Actual, calculated metric during inspection.
- Previous, reference value for determining improvement.
- Limit, limit-value for this metric as defined in the Quality Standard.
- Compliant, indication whether the metric is within its limit-value.
The compliant indicator can have the following appearances:
|
Metric complies to standard |
|
Metric is improved since the previous formal milestone. |
|
Metric does not comply to standard |
|
Metric is no part of standard |
While 'improved' expresses the quality improvement compared to the previous
formal inspection of the file, determination of improvement can
only be done when the following criteria are met:
the file has been inspected/uploaded before through a formal inspection in the
same product context
the content of the file is changed OR the Quality Standard (of the product context) is
changed since the previous formal inspection
Improvement or Compliance on the different hierarchy levels is determined as follows:
- File compliance, a file complies to the standard if all file-metrics are within
their limit-value (improvement-value) AND all classes within the file comply to the standard.
- Class compliance, a class complies to the standard if all class-related metrics
are within their limit-value (improvement-value) AND all methods within the class comply to the standard.
- Method compliance, a method complies to the standard if all method-related metrics
are within their limit-value Improvement-value).
