Select grouping of observations.

The Observation view is a multi-dimensional view for in-depth analysis. The view is multi-dimensional with regards to the fact that the data can be grouped into 4 different selections.

  • Files, the observations are grouped per originating Java source file
  • Impact level, the observations are grouped per assigned impact level
  • Sub-asttribute, the observations are grouped per assigned quality sub-attribute
  • Check, the observations are grouped per originating check (QStudio rule)
  • The selection of the grouping is done through the select-box in the top-pane of the Views-window. Per grouping the group-description and the number of available observations are displayed. Depending on the selected grouping, the group-description links to the corresponding part of the documentation or to the Java source file.

The view can be regared as hierarchical while it has the option to 'zoom' to different levels for the displayal of the observation-data e.g. from the number of observations reflecting a quality aspect right down to the line-numbers of the Java source code where the observations were done.
