Analyze observations
Analyze the observations.
By selecting the number of observations a next level in the view hierarchy is selected.
Descending in the view hierarchy the observations can be analyzed more specific. Once a level
is selected e.g. file, than the header contains a 'Back'-button to go up 1 level.
At the basis of the hierarchy the individual observations are displayed.
For every observation the following data is displayed:
- Filename, name of the Java source file where the observation was done.
- Line, linenumber in the Java source file where the observation was done.
- Position, position within the line of the Java source file where the observation was done.
- Observation, description of the violation of the corresponding QStudio check.
To analyze the observation and the originating rule-violation for every observation the
following options are available:
- View annotated source code, by selecting the
-icon a new window is opened
displaying the Java source code annotated (enriched) with the observations, positioned
such that the selected observation is within the window.
- View source code, by selecting the filename a new window is opened displaying the original
Java source code, positioned such that the selected observation is within the window.
- View QStudio check, by selecting the observation-description a new window is opened
showing the description of the violated rule (part of the Rule Guide).
